Weddings and Civil Ceremonies

As an independent non-denominational civil celebrant from the UK Society of Celebrants, I can help you plan a joyous wedding that is exactly as you and your partner's want it to be. Many people still choose to have their ceremonies conducted by traditional Registrars or Ministers of Religion. Such ceremonies naturally have their place but are widely viewed as prescriptive and indistinguishable from each other. Your wedding is a unique occasion and special to remember. Whether it is a small family affair, traditional, fun or unusual in style - I will work with you to ensure the ceremony is everything you want it to be colourful, inspirational and full of personality, befitting of the occasion and can include EVERYONE in attendance. It can be truly memorable. Your ceremony means your words.

Usually I will arrange to visit you three times prior to the ceremony to discuss the theme of the event. During this meeting they can provide useful resources, help and information. They can also provide you with detailed information on ceremonies, vows and traditions. It may also be advisable to have a rehearsal at the venue. You can be married anywhere you choose, an hotel, the family home, outdoors in a beauty spot, a beach, a night club or a field. I can also provide Music of your choice, Singing and suggestions for readings. If you would like any of these done by a professional person I can also arrange this and a Master/ Mistress of Ceremonies for the reception.

You will need to visit a Registry Office a few days before the Ceremony to do the legal requirement. It takes less than 10minutes and costs around £100. There is no need to dress up and can be done in jeans and a tee-shirt to save the your finery for the big day.

It makes no difference if you have been married before. As a Celebrant, it only matters that the day is, as you want it and is memorable.

If you would like to arrange a meeting with me please contact me at I am based in Stratford on Avon.

'From the moment we met with Sue to discuss our wedding we knew we were in safe hands.

Sue spent a lot of time getting to know all about us, our families, our friends and how we met. She was genuinely interested in our various stories and memories. She listened carefully to what we wanted to include in the ceremony and made some brilliant suggestions.

On the day Sue was such a calming influence. The service went without a hitch, it was full of warmth and laughter. So many friends said that it was the most moving wedding they had attended and a lot of that was attributed to Sue. ‘
